Shyne, whose real name is Jamal Barrow, was born in Belize.
Reportedly Shyne converted to Judaism, and he legally changed his name Moses Michael Leviy. There has been considerable anticipation for his release in hip-hop and mainstream media alike but various reports that he had already been released, Shyne is now in Federal custody. A few hours after his release was expected to take place that he had been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an undisclosed detention facility in Western New York State. According to his attorney, Oscar Michelin, Federal officials are now reviewing the rapper's immigration status and making a determination on whether or not he will be deported to Belize. He is the son of Dean Barrow, the current Prime Minister of Belize. sorry guys guess you gotta wait a little bit longer .
